Aker Advantage Limited is a recruitment agency with offices across the UK, Netherlands, Australia and the US.  We have been supplying people to the Engineering Industry for over 25 years and place a variety of Engineers and Support Staff into rewarding temporary and permanent roles.

We have identified the following position based at our Westlakes Office in Whitehaven, Cumbria:

Role: ACKtiv Project Engineer

Primary Responsibilities: 
This could typically include the following:.
• Supporting the package manager in delivering a number of individual work packages.
• Assist with the development of the work package baseline programmes.
• Assist in the production of work package estimates.
• Provision of accurate progress reports to the package manager.
• Support the package manager with the management of scope and programme changes.
• Support to the procurement procedures & responsible for compiling enquiry & procurement packages.
• Liaise with discipline leads.
• Liaise with sub-contractors & vendors.

Secondary Responsibilities: 
• Input to design issues when the individual has applicable experience & abilities.
• Work closely with other project team representatives to generate a good working environment.
• Deputise for the package manager as required.

Accountabilities: 
• The safety of self and others working with you.
• Completion of deliverables to cost & programme.
• Progress against the baseline programme for each of the allocated work packages.

Discharge Responsibilities Via: 
• Project team, in particular the functional engineers and designers.

Governed By: 
• Package manager, QA systems & available resources.

Key Interfaces: 
• Package manager & functional engineers/designers.
• Development manager during design & procurement phases
• Construction & commissioning manager during site work phases
• Safety case team.

Additional Notes: 
• The project engineer will work closely with the functional resources to deliver the work packages.  When appropriate, the project engineer will be directly responsible for delivery of a specific work package on behalf of the package manager.

Minimum Qualification: HND or equivalent
