My client, a leading consultancy is looking for a Tunnel Inspector to work in Iceland.
Job description. For the immediate future we are looking to recruit a minimum of four tunnel inspectors to work on the Karanjukar Hydro-electric project in Iceland. Reporting to a Senior Inspector and/or the Project Manager for tunnels, you will have previous tunnel experience with particular reference to rock bolts, shotcrete and concrete, as well as having practical experience of concreting. The role involves having to instruct the contractor with respect to the quality of the work being undertaken. Candidate specification. Ideally, you will have previous tunnel experience including rock bolts, shotcrete and concrete and some practical experience of concreting. You will be able to communicate effectively in English (spoken and written).
These positions will be on a four week on and one week off basis.
Icelandic candidates should note that the customary 10 days on + 4 days off is not acceptable for these posts as we must ensure continuity of supervision. You should anticipate long hours in the tunnel on a dayshift and a nightshift rota.
