 The successful candidate will operate in a thriving Water and Waste Water team serving many and varied market sectors and clients. Recent major projects, the type of which the successful candidate would be expected to contribute to in a supervisory or managerial capacity include numerous multi million pound flood alleviation schemes, a £40 million re-build and an extension to a major waste water treatment works in the North of England and a £13 million extension to a key water treatment plant in Yorkshire. The successful candidate would normally be given the opportunity to provide project management or package management inputs on smaller schemes as well as undertake outline and detailed design supervision activities. Detailed design inputs will be required on more complex schemes. The principal function of this position is to provide a high level of engineering and technical support together with managerial support to the Water and Power business group and other business groups as required. For a range of commissions within the water and waste water sphere the role will include responsibilities for the management and leadership of design projects, for supervision and contract administration services and for managing and overseeing the production of outline and detailed designs, reports, drawings, tender documents, specifications, feasibility studies, and asset management works. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge. The ability to manage projects and project teams and provide leadership and direction to more junior members of the team. Ability to manage budgets and meet deadlines. To be an excellent communicator at all levels both internally and with clients/suppliers. Be able to provide accurate technical outputs. To be self motivated, a strong leader and a clear thinker.
