As a Tunnel Design Engineer  Responsibilities include - Lead or Assist senior colleagues with Projects and coordinate with other engineering disciplines including, structural, environmental, mechanical and electrical engineers.
Manage or assist in the management of projects.  Responsible for the production of design solutions, reports, specifications and drawings, covering a range of project requirements from new build to modification, maintenance and refurbishment.  Become integral to the division's operations and contribute to the business and the team's technical development.  Contribute to risk assessment and specification documents.  Assist in the management of more junior/graduate engineers supporting their development and capability.  Depending upon seniority, become actively involved in business development.  Respond to contractor queries and attend site progress meetings. These are long-term career appointments with opportunities to advance to more senior management positions. Candidates will already be in possession of relevant academic qualifications, have post-chartership Design Engineering experienced and able to demonstrate exceptional Design Engineering Technical competences.  Strong academic background ideally with a civil engineering bachelors or masters degree.  Experience of working on multiple concurrent commissions, and representing the company to clients  Ideally detailed experience in structural design as well as have understanding of basic soil or rock mechanics  Skills in structural engineering, geotechnics, numerical modelling, and railway and metro engineering will all be highly valued and utilised.
