Principle Mechanical Engineer (Coal Fired Plant) - Chile

The company

An Engineering Consultancy with large generation and distribution projects in the Middle East, Australia, Asia and South America. Employing approximately 6000 permanent staff in infrastructure projects, commercial and residential developments and various other sectors, they offer clients a range of services from feasibility studies, detailed design, owner’s engineer and construction management.

The position

As Principle Mechanical Engineer you will report to the Operating Centre Manager in the first instance, however for day to day matters you will report directly in the Project Manager. The project itself will be 2 x 350 MW coal fired power plant. The initial stage of the project will be based in the Santiago office to undertake design review etc after which you will then relocate to sight in Concepcion which is about 400 kms south of Santiago. Overall the position will run for approximately 36 months.

The person

You will have a degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering combined with at least 15 years experience. You will have previous experience on coal fired plants, preferably within the last 5 years. You will have fluency in English, both written and spoken, and have excellent communication skills. Additional Spanish language skills are highly appreciated. This position is for an immediate start.
