To provide support in the preparation of EIA and SEA of infrastructure projects primarily in the water and energy sectors.. Environmental scientists and engineers work as integrated teams to deliver Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and related studies, principally to the Energy, Water and Flood Risk Management sectors. Our experienced ecologists and environmental scientists work on a range of projects, in a variety of roles to provide specialist input to many development studies ranging widely in design, scale, location and environment. Principal duties and accountabilities will include: Baseline environmental data collection. Consultation with Statutory and key consultees. Production of consultation documents and management of responses. Input to the production of EIA Screening and Scoping documents. Input to the environmental appraisal of projects and strategies. An interest in / knowledge of field ecology is desirable but not essential as the Environmental Scientist may be involved in the ecological work. Key initial duties are likely to include: Assistance on field ecological surveys, writing ecological reports / memos. BSc in environmentally related discipline or related area is essential. MSc in Environmental Impact Assessment or related areas is desirable. Commitment to continuous professional development and attainment of membership of a relevant chartered institution. Work experience in an environment related field and / or working / academic knowledge of environmental impact assessment techniques are desirable. Interest and aptitude for the objective assessment of the impacts of projects on the environment.
