To manage wastewater asset performance with the regulators, particularly dealing with pollution incidents and wastewater treatment works failures with the Environment Agency Wales (EAW). Provide support to the alliance partners in respect of the AMP programme.  To work closely with the operational partners to maximise the clients Environmental Performance and Ofwat Performance Assessment position, whilst ensuring continuous improvement, best practice and making recommendations for improvements and change. Representing DCWW with our regulator, EAW, to develop strong working relationships, which regularly involves questioning, challenging and negotiating. Assisting in the formulation and development of policies and strategies to meet regulatory requirements and subsequently reviewing the implementation, with the operational partners, and making recommendations for change. Represent DCWW on national groups which influence the development of European legislation and subsequent UK implementation, ensure best intercompany practice and promote essential research and development. Maintain up to date awareness and understanding of Environmental Legislation and provide scientific and regulatory advice to all the clients partners in the exercise of the Company's statutory duties. Previous experience in Water Industry, professionally qualified to degree level. Ability to influence and change operational practices across contract partners (Negotiate/influence). Strong negotiation and influencing skills to ensure that the clients regulatory position is maximised. Ability to communicate at all levels, up to Board Level, to ensure the company is properly represented. The ability to identify issues, before they impact on performance and deliver solutions. Understanding of water and environmental quality science and its application. Ability to produce accurate and concise reports that highlight key issues. Strong data analysis skills and organisation skills. Good computer literacy and letter/report writing skills. The role is based in North Wales but a high degree of flexibility and mobility is required to perform this role as it is essential to work in an integrated manner with the clients operational partners across the whole of Wales. This role is for a minimum of 12 months but is likely to be for a longer period
