Our client is a leading global provider of engineering and construction services, technology products and integrated solutions. The business comprises several industries, including Oil & Gas, Refining & Chemicals, Mining & Metals and Power Generation.

This role is to assist the Engineering Manager in the delivery of designs in accordance with client stated guidance for projects associated with the decommissioning of a nuclear power station. You will work within the organisation across projects as designated by the Engineering Manager.

Your principal interfaces will be with the Project Lead’s, Project Engineers, Design Engineers, site staff and procurement staff. You will also support the Engineering Manager to manage technical support from internal or external companies and prepare, audit and amend Engineering Procedures and guidance as required.

Your responsibilities will include offering support to the Engineering Manager in his duties. Also to check and expedite designs and engineering processes, assisting with procurement contracts and the preparation of weekly / monthly reports. To monitor progress and variations of designs as well as visiting design teams and progress the work and report on it. Another one of your responsibilities will be to monitor programme deliverables and to liaise with client and other partner organisations as necessary.

A technical background is required. The systems engineer should be able to impose themselves on the design team to avoid over-complication / over elaboration in the design of what will, in many cases, be innovative solutions. Detailed knowledge of P3e is not required.

The post-holder requires a comprehensive working knowledge of nuclear and conventional plant as well as a detailed understanding of the TSIF Engineering Process.
