AMEC are recruiting for a Senior Safety Engineer to be based in Knutsford for a Permanent position with a competitive salary.

The role of Senior Safety Engineer is the provision of nuclear safety consultancy services to clients producing nuclear safety case and supporting documentation and developing client relationships.

The key responsibilities is understanding nuclear safety principles and their role and application to a modern standards safety case. Preparation and review of nuclear safety case and supporting documentation providing technical support to quotations, bids and tenders. Provide a point of technical contact for major clients. Develop client relationships in order to win business and supervise less experienced members of the team and assist in the technical development of the team.

As you would expect as Senior Safety Engineer you will be required to have a sound technical/engineering background and significant experience in the nuclear industry working in a nuclear safety environment  and a soundunderstanding of nuclear regulatory requirements. Experience in the provision of nuclear safety case justifications to modern standards in support of nuclear reactor plant 5.Knowledge and experience of the application of more than one of the following in support of a nuclear safety case: Hazard identification processes including FMECA and HAZOP Nuclear safety case fault schedule development Identification of safety functional requirements Safety Class Analysis Probabilistic Safety Assessment (including fault tree and/or event tree analysis) .Experience of interaction with clients. Knowledge of naval reactor plant would be an advantage
