Description
My client is an insurance company based in London: they require an engineer with in-depth knowledge of Power Generation to work as a Risk Engineer.
The company is an underwriter that is focused on the energy sector, and they are currently recruiting for an engineer to provide in-depth technical support to underwriters. This will focus on Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Cost-effective Risk Improvement Solutions. Your primary responsibilities will be:
Conducting desktop reviews to assess risk exposure levels and maximum loss calculations
Carrying out site visits and preparing risk assessment reports
Providing engineering input to both Underwriting and Claims departments, to assist with risk selection and pricing.
All candidates must hold a degree in a relevant engineering discipline. In addition you will need to be able to conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessment specifically for power plants, and have strong knowledge of the risks associated with the main types of gas turbine in the market. The required skills will most likely have been gained in either commissioning, maintenance or operations of power plants.
In addition to these technical abilities all candidates must have excellent English language skills; any additional languages would be a plus. This should include the ability to present and write reports to a high standard. This role will also involve international travel, although you will be based in London.
Please send your CV ASAP for immediate consideration.
