COMPANY
My Client is a Scottish based designer and manufacturer of upstream topside production process plants. Their process knowledge is supported and enhanced by the ability to incorporate innovative solutions in the process train which eliminate the problems associated with sand handling, produced water treatment and gas treatment. Their wide experience in project management and manufacturing has enabled them to select manufacturing partners in such widespread locations as the USA, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and Nigeria.
ROLE
Due to extensive evaluation of their business and the identification of key areas for efficiency improvement, my Client are creating a new post to be based within their Montrose facility. This is the role of Commissioning Manager and is a very exciting, business critical position.
It has been established that there is the need for a main point of contact and a focus on customer service, or more precisely an after-sales service dealing with reporting from the field on commissioning, recruitment, management and development of the Commissioning Dept, customer invoicing, customer service and the co-ordination of the Company's fledgling Rental Equipment Division. This purpose will best be served by the successful applicant setting up a new division.
REQUIREMENTS
Your key responsibilities will include:
Organisation, Management, QHSE, Innovation
- Form a main point of contact for all after sales related activities including commissioning of purchased equipment, inspections of installed equipment, performance measurement, spare part sales and technical support.
- Review purchase orders and contracts for after sales activities.
- Recruitment and co-ordination of permanent and sub-contract labour to fulfil the demand for commissioning activities.
- Training of operators in use of process plant in line with company operation and maintenance manuals.
- Maintain contact with plant operational personnel to build long-term realationship / database of customer feedback in support of product improvement and development.
- Support all Company standards regarding behaviour and discipline.
- Plan and carry out commissioning in accordance with schedules.
- Implementation of all relevant QA standards and procedures.
- Implementation and maintenance of all Company and Client HSE procedures, standards and routines, including work permit systems.
- Participation in all accident / incident investigation and follow up to prevent further or wider re-occurrence.
- Identification of potential improvements in processes, documentation, procedures and commissioning activities to improve products, productivity, quality and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
You should have an appropriate Engineering qualification and a relevant level of experience within the key areas of Commissioning Engineering, Controls and Instrumentation and the operation of process plant within an Oil & Gas environment. You should be familiar and comfortable with Customer Service and Sales Support within the context of your Engineering experience. You should have an understanding of Company administration, QA and HSE systems. You should be a confident and experienced communicator with problem-solving skills, computer literate and capable in your ability to read manuals, drawings, schematics, valve lists etc. This role would suit an experienced Engineer who has perhaps already moved into or is looking to move into a Business Unit Manager or Client liaison role with the focus still on their engineering expertise.
This is a very exciting new role with, essentially a blank canvass for the successful candidate to built up a strong, functioning team and division within a high-performing, expanding Company.
