You must have good all-round technical expertise in water and/or wastewater design and the ability to progress schemes from inception to design completion. You will be able to demonstrate competence in the delivery of safe and efficient design solutions and will be able to provide sound technical judgement. You will have sound client liaison skills and be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.The successful applicant should currently be part of a team delivering design solutions.  Knowledge of Scottish Water Specifications would be advantageous.  You will be familiar with current industry best practice for your area of expertise.  In particular you will be familiar with current approaches to safe design and risk management and have experience with design standards including BS8110 & BS8002 & BS8007.  As an experienced professional the successful applicant should be a chartered engineer (ICE/CIWEM) or have equivalent experience. You should also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team as well as leading teams in your area of expertise with the confidence of those working above and below you. Experience of design and build projects.
Experience of construction supervision. Good working knowledge of different contract types and procurement options. Able to produce well presented and accurate reports.Potential for project management and leadership. Commercially astute. Sound technical background developed within the UK water sector.
