Description
Design an electrical work package to issued for construction status for simple to complex work projects, taking into account service requirements, existing service capacities and design for constructability.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall electrical design and project engineering of installations including electrical distribution, cabling, motor control centres, automation and control systems and building services for various projects. You will also be required to provide site support, specify materials and assist in procurement.
Dimensions
Interface with key personnel, including but not limited to, Design Manager, Project Owner, Health and Safety Advisor, Project Manager and Construction Coordinator to ensure a team approach to the project
Interface with equipment vendors to establish equipment service/space requirements and best practice
Review contract and project specifications and create control panel/MCC specifications, cable schedules, routing and containment to 16th IEE Wiring Regulations.
Schedule kick-off and design review meetings, informing all attendees of time and place.
Conduct site-specific walk rounds to establish availability of services and ability to construct.
Complete design risk assessment for all packages
Create detailed sketches, layout drawings and schematic drawings for review and IFC using AutoCAD, in-line with the quality control system and CAD standards.
Prepare Bills of materials, purchase requisitions and work instructions
Liase with the client, vendors and suppliers during the project life cycle through to installation and site testing and respond to RFIs during the construction phase
The successful candidate will be/possess the following:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline or HNC/HND Electrical Engineering with relevant experience in design
Semiconductor Experience would be advantageous but not necessary
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Well developed communication skills both written and verbal
Highly accurate with excellent attention to detail
Good time management
Strong commitment to achieving specified goals
Proactive approach to work
