Description
Our client is looking for an engineer to become part of a worldwide team of over 6000 professionals involved in designing, managing and implementing leading edge programmes and projects in the water, environmental and energy sectors. We currently have a Principal Dam Engineer role available in Warrington. The role involves technical management of a wide range of dam engineering studies and projects within the north west of the UK. Opportunities to gain experience in project management will be available if required. Typical projects include studies, design, remediation and performance monitoring of spillways, outlet works, embankment dams, gravity dams and service reservoirs. To be successful in this role you will need to be a Chartered Civil Engineer, ideally with a solid background in dam engineering and able to demonstrate capability and leadership in either hydraulics or geotechnics. However, consideration will also be given to candidates with knowledge and abilities in related topics such as open channel hydraulics, geotechnical processes, hydrology, water resources, structural design and construction, but who also have a desire to move into the dam engineering sector. You must be capable of producing a very high standard of technical work both individually and through others. You must be able to facilitate high performance within a multi-discipline team and have experience in liaising with clients, forging good working relations and managing their expectations.
