Hydrogeologist/Hydraulic Engineers at all levels from a civil/mechanical/or network modelling background with an understanding of basic theory and a grasp of the practical application of hydraulics, ideally with experience in the water industry. Applications from graduates from an engineering or scientific background with an interest in the application of hydraulics in the water industry and with an aptitude for spreadsheets and calculation skills would also be considered. To carry out steady state hydraulic calculations associated with closed pipe and open channel systems in water and waste water treatment works, pump mains and marine outfalls. Experience of transient analysis of surge/waterhammer would be useful. Hands on experience of hydraulic calculations using excel spreadsheets or manual methods is required, additionally use of specialist hydraulic software such as Flowmaster, Hades, Arts, Infoworks, ISIS, Synergy, Epanet, Auphyas or similar would be an advantage.
