They have doubled in size over the past few years and from its UK headquarters they currently control a worldwide network of 80 offices, of which 40 are in the UK. Scott Wilson undertakes consultancy work in all aspects of structural and building engineering, we are fully conversant with the use of all types of construction methods and building materials, and we are active in promoting research in the development of new aspects of construction. They are currently looking to recruit an Associate/ Technical Director of Civils and Structures in their office in Leeds. This is a leading role within one of their core professional disciplines and involves being a leading technical contributor with responsibility for providing direction, advice, mentoring and guidance for others. The role involves managing an important team of technical professionals and includes all people management responsibilities: recruitment and selection, coaching, performance management, organisational decision making. The role is responsible for recommending and assisting in the development of new offerings and making improvements to existing work practices. The position also has important project responsibilities including estimating the business impact of projects, negotiating and managing risk, and interfacing at senior levels with our clients. You will also be required to assist the Regional Director, and to manage the day to day activities of the Civil and Structural team. You will be required to ensure that the workload is available with technical compliance, and undertake project responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer and will have proven Engineering and Management skills.
