The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both locations was signed today (October 14th), to mark a commitment to further wind energy, biofuel and solar energy supply.
Michael Russell, the Scottish government's minister for external affairs, said: "Like Scotland, India is blessed with an abundance of the natural resources needed to generate renewable energy and its government is clearly committed to exploiting this in order to secure its energy future."
He added that the Scottish Beatrice offshore wind demonstrator turbines mean the country is already making good developmental headway.
The MoU will not only mean a collaboration between the two countries in terms of technology, but also in generating ideas for low carbon energy sectors.
Until the May 2007 elections were over, the Scottish Government was known as the Scottish Executive from the point of being established in 1999.
